I got a question for folks who have read The Three Body Problem:

Do you guys find the story depressing or exciting? My sister thinks it's pretty dark and fucked up which, like, valid. But idk I think the story so far is so fascinating and nowhere near as dark as other sci-fi series I've read.

I recently found out that d&d work in netflix after GoT was 3 body problem adaptation? All the backlash they get didnt stop them to ruin one of most popular scifi book in china? D&D just like those grim reaper knocking meme and it was worse since Liu and George were friends (well at least the show got 6 emmy nominees unlike hotd who got nothing it just show how incompetent Ryan Condal was).

so the concept of the show is that earth has been in contact with aliens since the 70s but it is only in present day, hours before the super secret in-contact-with-aliens society has a big meeting that they figure out the aliens are telepathic and have no concept of lying.

that the aliens realize humans can lie and out of fear immediately withdraw the protection that's keeping the society hidden from the world's governments.

what have they been doing all this time?? Deception never came up in all those decades?? So much for communicating with aliens geez
